All classes (unless otherwise noted) will be judged and prizes awarded in each of the following two age groups:

NOVICE - AGES 10 & UNDER (NUMBERED ONLY ENTRIES) and INTERMEDIATE - 11 - 18 (NUMBER-LETTER ENTRIES). 

 

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

 1. The Junior Building of the Lincoln County Fair is open to boys and girls 18 years of age and under as of September 1, 2008.

 

2.    There will be two classes of exhibitors.  Novice classes will be open to children up to 10 years.  Intermediate classes will be open to children 11 to 18 years.

 

 3. Each exhibitor in the Junior Fair must be a Junior Member. The membership fee is $2.00, which entitles the exhibitor to one free admission to the Fair.

 

 4. Entry forms may be sent by mail or otherwise received by the Fair Secretary at Box 981, Beamsville, ON LOR 1BO, no later than Friday, August 29, 2008. A late fee of 25 cents per entry will be charged after August 31, 2008.  Entry tags may be picked up at the Fair Office during scheduled office hours.  Include a handling fee of $1.50 to have your tags mailed.

 

 5. No entry fee is charged for Junior Fair exhibits.

 

 6. Exhibits are to be placed in the Junior Fair Building on Wednesday, September 3,  from 2 to 4 pm and from 6 to 9 pm ONLY.

 

 7. The Junior Fair Building will be closed to everyone at 6 pm Sunday, September 7.  Exhibits may be removed Sunday, September 7 between 7 and 8:30 pm only, no exceptions.

 

"CASH FOR ALL WINNING ENTRIES WILL BE PAID ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, BETWEEN 7 AND 8:30 PM IN THE JUNIOR FAIR BUILDING"

  

 8. All Exhibitors in the Junior Fair must pick up an Exhibitor=s Claim ticket at the Secretary=s Office.  This ticket is to be shown at the door on Sunday evening from 7 to 8:30 pm for verification so you can pick up your exhibits.  If you have more than you can carry at once, take these exhibits to the door and pass them to your helper or helpers to place in your vehicle.  Only EXHIBITORS allowed in the hall to pick up exhibits!

 

 9. One entry per class per person.

 

10. All exhibits placed at the risk of the exhibitor.

 

11. Any member exhibiting any article not her/his own work shall forfeit any prize money and be ineligible for membership for 2 years.

 

12. The Committee in charge has the authority to remove all soiled, defaced or old work and instruct the Judge to award the prize to new and up-to-date work.

 

13. Judges shall have discretionary power to withhold the first or any prize where they deem an article unworthy.

                                                                             

14. In classes with ten or more entries, 4th and 5th prizes of $1.00 each will be awarded.

 

15. All articles to remain (untouched by the owner or any person) in the charge of the Committee throughout the Fair.

 

16. In case an error occurs in the printing of the Prize List, the Directors have the authority to rectify same.

 

17. All point totals are calculated as follows:  1st - 5 pts.,  2nd - 4 pts,  3rd - 3 pts.,  4th - 2 pts.,  5th - 1 pt.

 

18. Additional rules may precede each section.
